Abstract

This paper presents the results of the «relevamiento CLAP,» a survey conducted in September 2020 to more than 700 professional lyrical singers residing in Argentina. The results present detailed and previously unsurveyed information on the geographical distribution of singers, their age characteristics, their training, their work as teachers, their work in choirs as well as soloists (both in traditional and new formats), their insertion in other areas of the labour market, their self-perception of their own tasks and their needs in relation to the lyric music activity. This content is accompanied by a technical description of the survey, its motivation and its implementation, as well as some thoughts on the results, with special attention to possible areas of future research.
